Jennifer King, PhD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Jennifer King (she/her) is an independent practitioner with Elevate Psychology and a licensed clinical psychologist. She specializes in treating trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood concerns, and life transitions. Her work focuses on helping clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and find greater meaning and fulfillment in their lives. Dr. King is especially passionate about supporting women through gender-based stressors, including perimenopause and menopause, and navigating the complex demands of multiple roles while maintaining self-care.
Dr. King began her clinical career in 2007, with the majority of her experience in the Veterans Health Administration, where she specialized in treating co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorders. She is formally trained in science-based treatments for PTSD and has extensive experience working with Veterans, first responders, and survivors of sexual trauma. She finds it deeply meaningful to support clients in processing trauma so they can experience less distress, greater peace, and full engagement in their lives.
Dr. King integrates cognitive-behavioral approaches with existential and person-centered therapies to support meaningful, values-driven change both within and beyond the therapy space. She is committed to the integration of science and practice and has served as an evidence-based treatment coordinator. Dr. King is also actively involved in training and supervision, including mentoring postdoctoral fellows and other trainees. She prioritizes offering care that is culturally responsive, ethical, collaborative, and warm, and she brings openness and a sense of humor to her work with clients.
